Expedia Case Study

"3DGE is doing groundbreaking work. Leveraging our own creative material, they were able to produce a full creative concept from scratch into glasses-free 3D, delivering final assets ahead of schedule. 3DGE is extremely easy to work with and we're very satisfied with the results they produced for our client." -Chris Roop, Director, Business Grip Limited

Background :

Expedia was gearing up for a 2-month “Light Up Vegas” campaign, and engaged iTRIX MEDIA to reach a tourist-heavy Montreal demographic.

Creative Scenario:

Grip Limited, the creative agency for Expedia Canada, had finalized eye-catching static OOH, digital, print, and social media assets, but had no dynamic DOOH content.

3DGE Solution:

After receiving existing assets from Grip, 3DGE storyboarded a concept from scratch, which gave consumers the illusion of driving into Las Vegas past its iconic welcome sign, replaced by Expedia’s branded billboard. Next, 3DGE went to work modeling a 3D environment, applying cameras and optimizing for autostereoscopic viewing. Finally, 3DGE applied 3D animation to the Expedia suitcase logo. The result was a cohesive 15-second animation which brought together the Nevada desert, the highway, the Vegas skyline and the billboard, which “lit up Vegas” with a 3D effect on stars zipping out of the screen.
